Scripture Reading:
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
– Romans 6:4 (KJV)
Reflection
Union with Christ’s Death and Life.
When Jesus Christ rose bodily from the grave, He inaugurated a new creation. Believers, united with Him in baptism and faith, share in both His death to sin and His resurrection to righteousness.
This is not merely a future hope but a present reality: our old selves have been crucified, and we now live empowered by His life (Rom. 6:6–7).
Victory over Sin and Death.
The Resurrection is the vindication of Christ’s victory. Sin’s power is broken; death no longer holds ultimate sway. Because He lives, we live (1 Cor. 15:20–22).
Every time we face guilt, fear, or the grave, we can stand firm: death has been swallowed up in victory (Isa. 25:8).
Transformation and Hope.
Resurrection power means transformation. What was once dead—our hardened hearts, our enslaving habits, our despair—can be made alive.
The same Spirit that raised Jesus dwells in us, producing love, joy, peace, and endurance (Rom. 8:11; Gal. 5:22–23).
Application
Daily Remembrance: Begin each morning by confessing that your life is hidden with Christ in God (Col. 3:3).
Walk in Newness: When temptation comes, remind yourself that your identity is rooted in His risen life—sin’s dominion is broken.
Share the Hope: Proclaim the resurrection in word and deed, offering others the living hope we possess (1 Pet. 1:3).
Prayer
In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the mighty power that raised Jesus from the dead. By that same power, breathe life into every barren place in me. Where I have known defeat, grant me victory; where I have been bound by sin, set me free; where I have felt despair, fill me with living hope. Empower me each day to walk in the newness of life, testifying to Your resurrection power for Your glory and the good of others.
In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.
