Secret Enemies

In life, we sometimes face challenges from unseen sources—secret enemies who might wish us harm or undermine us. The Bible reminds us that even when we aren’t aware of those working against us, God sees all and stands ready to defend us.

Psalm 91:1-3 reassures us, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty… He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.”

This passage reminds us that God acts as a shield, protecting us from dangers both seen and unseen. When we place our trust in Him, we can find peace, knowing He is at work behind the scenes.

David, too, understood God’s protection against hidden enemies. In Psalm 35:1, he prays, “Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.” Instead of seeking revenge or living in fear, David trusted that God would handle his battles. Like David, we are invited to bring our concerns to God and release our fears, trusting in His wisdom and timing.

Trusting God to fight our secret battles doesn’t mean passively doing nothing. Rather, it means remaining faithful, staying focused on our own journey, and letting God handle the things beyond our control. When we let Him take the lead, we can rest knowing He will protect, guide, and give us victory in His perfect way.
