For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
- 1 Timothy 6:10
1. Greed
This is the product of idolatry and envy.
It is an uncontrollable desire to have more.
2. Envy
Comparing what you have with what others have.
Wishing that other peoples wealth and material possessions were yours.
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones (Proverbs 14:30)
3. Idolatry
Making money central to your life.
Devoting time, energy and attention to its gain and use.
Regarding money as key to having power
4. Neutrality
Money by itself has no morality associated with it, it is our attitude towards it and what we do with it that counts.
