When you are on a journey to a better and fulfilling life, you need to first reflect on your life currently and seek a deeper understanding of your purpose. The best and effective way of understanding your purpose is through developing a consistent prayer habit to communicate with God, seeking guidance and strength.
Below are three key aspects that I believe everyone need to make part of their lives in order to live a purposeful life:
Reflection
You need to examine your life, actions, and relationship with God. This involves considering your thoughts, motives, and behaviors. Reflection will enable you to assess your alignment with the will of God and help you create a firm foundation for spiritual growth and commitment to living a godly life.
“Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord!”
Lamentations 3:40
Prayer
You also need to develop a consistent prayer routine to communicate with God, our source of life. You must express your thoughts, emotions, needs, and desires to God while also seeking His guidance, mercy, and blessings. Prayer is a powerful and transformative practice that drives spiritual growth and alignment with the will of God.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
Trusting God
Trust in God's plan for your life, even during challenges, knowing that He is with you every step of the way. You need to confidently surrender all your concerns, fears, and uncertainties to God, believing that He is in control and has a plan that surpasses human understanding.
Trusting God is an essential aspect of our relationship with Him, and it goes beyond just acknowledging His existence, it involves placing complete confidence in His wisdom, love, and sovereignty.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
