Marriage is a life time union and that is what God intended from the beginning when he created Eve, seeing that Adam was lonely or did not have anyone to help him.
Genesis 2:21-22
So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
Marriage is the foundation for a family structure and God has blessed marriages between a man and a woman. marriage must be built with trust and mutual agreement, support and love should be a daily way of life in a marriage and these are very key to the success of the marriage.
Hebrews 13:4
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
A man and a woman were made in the image of God and are under his blessings, by entering into marriage, a man and a woman are combined to be one thing which is meant to last for a life time.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
